About Me
I studied Information Design in Pretoria, South Africa, and I taught myself how to animate from watching YouTube videos. My career began in broadcast design and VFX compositing but it flourished when I went freelance as a motion graphics artist. I had the privilege to work at many of Londons top animation studios including Nexus, Shotopop and Found.
Since then, I’ve made content for museums and cultural institutions all over the world, my short films have screened at festivals across Europe and North America, and my online content for clients regularly breaks 1m views. I’ve worked in many sectors but I always prefer to make films for clients with progressive values and about real issues, such as my work for the UNHCR, Ambitious About Autism, The Earthshot Prize and other charitable organisations.
What I do for clients
Clients typically hire me as a motion graphics artist, but in recent years I have been given many roles as a creative director and animation director - although I usually insist on still animating as well.
I combine traditional media with software like After Effects, Photoshop, Cinema 4D & Procreate Dreams. My mixed media approach to motion design is a product of my background as a graphic designer, VFX compositor, illustrator and film maker.
I work with clients big and small, in isolation or as part of a team. My approach is methodical and research based but my solutions are often experimental and unconventional.
